Your profile is public for all the world to see. Search engines regularly spider our site: Anything you put on your profile can and will be found using the major search engines. This includes links and documents you've uploaded to our site.
We track who you've talked to and when. We display this information on your profile, which (as we just said) is spidered by the search engines. This means others will likely be able to see who you talked to on using our site.
You need a Password to enter into our web site. We encrypt that password so no one can see what it is - even us! It is your responsiblity to keep it a secret. Just so you know, we DO have the ability to reset your password, but it's impossible for us to see it as we reset it.
You need a telephone Pass Code to talk on the phone using our site & service. That pass code is yours and yours alone: DO NOT SHARE IT! Just so you know, we do have the ability to see that pass code in your profile (but no one else does but you).
When you join a group the moderator of that group will have full access to your email address. He or she may email you directly (either within or outside of our site) any time.
When you join an event the moderator of that event will have full access to your email address. He or she may email you directly (either within or outside of our site) any time.
We WILL NOT automatically give your conversation partners access to your email address. They WILL be given the ability to email you from within our site so they can follow up with you individually after you speak with them. However, we will not let them follow up through our site using our bulk mail function unless they have somehow gotten your email address from you (or any other source but us).
Other than the moderators of groups you belong to or hosts of events you attend, you must proactively give your email address (or other contact information) to anyone you talk to on our site. You can do this in one of three ways: - Tell them the information during your conversation - Send them an email from within our site. This automatically gives the person YOUR email address - Click a box to pass your contact information to the person (or otherwise give him/her access to that information within our site).
ALL of your participation in our events over the phone may be recorded. Assume it will. We reserve the right to listen to anything we've recorded. - Anything that you say within a "conference" session within an event can and will be disseminated by the host of the event. - Anything that you say within a "feedback" session during an event can and will be used by us or the host of the event. - Anything that you say within a "roundtable" session during an event can and will be used by us or the host of the event. - Anything that you say within a "conversation" session during an event may be given to both you and the other person in your conversation to use as you see fit (if you BOTH have said you're generally OK with this). - Anything that we record MAY be given to other people, entities or organizations if we are compelled to do so by law, injunction or court order.
We encourage you to tell your friends about our service and we have an email tool which helps you do that. We do not use any of the email addresses you enter into our site except as a reference when a person you've told about us comes to the site. We promise we will never use that information in any way to contact people on your email list(s) without your express permission.
We WILL NOT rent or sell your contact information to any of our 3rd party partners or ad networks. That said, we may use any information we have collected about you to better match you up with an offer on those partners' (or ad networks) behalf.
When you first come to our site we track who brought you to us (if anyone). This information is stored in a "cookie", or a piece of data stored on your computer which help us get you around on our site better.
We, or people who we've hired or contracted with to work on our behalf, may use your contact information to contact you at any time. This may be by email, postal mail, telephone, or any other method you've given to us. You may opt out of this kind of communication at any time.
Should we be acquired, in whole or in substantial part, we will disclose and transfer all information (including your private information) to the entity which acquires us. This will happen whether the acquisition is by way of merger, bankruptcy, consolidation or purchase of all or a substantial portion of our assets. If this happens you will be presented with the option of removing your information from our databases prior to the transfer occurring.
We take appropriate precautions to protect our users' information. Your profile, account information and recordings of communications with other entities are located on a secured server behind a firewall. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). (To learn more about SSL, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Sockets_Layer). Any sensitive information that you provide will be secured with industry standard protocols and technology.
